Christmas shopping.
It’s got to be the penance we all pay to take some time off at this time of year. I’m amazed at all of the junk that piles up in the stores at this time of year. Someone must be buying it. It reminds me of all the stuff you see at duty free in the airport. Who buys the 6 lb bar of chocolate? Someone doe,s because there are racks and racks of industrial size Toblerone. Watches…….Who spends $2000 on a watch at the airport? Don’t they have to pay duty on it when they arrive?
Back to the shopping today: The whole thing was like a rugby scrum. Unsmiling grim determination…….People were looking at, “never would think of buying this at any other time of year” stuff, with a combination of desperation and resignation. Stress, debt and pushing and shoving…it all ends in the inevitable Christmas dinner family fight……..
Scrooge or what? I need to lighten up..
Here is a pic that I took a year or so ago….It has nothing to do with Christmas or any of the above….but it’s kind of a nice picture.
I remember when I took it I figured it was something special. When I saw it on the screen it seemed sad full of unstated meaning……I don’t know it’s a good picture though.
Stay Healthy….and Happier than the scrooge I’m becoming!

The implication of this entry, as any neutral would read it, is that Christmas dinners in Terry's family ended up in a scrap. The further implication is that other family members were the culprits, while goody, goody Terry scuttled out the door, leaving the rest of the family to its dysfunctional scratching. Hmmm. Hope things go better this year, Terry.

hmmm I think most families have a little scrap at x mas
JEEZE...lighten up....I've been the culprit in many a family tiff
I thought the main topic on this post was Christmas shopping...

I thought a scrap was part of the Christmas ritual, no? Along with stockings hung by the chimney with care and all that...
I think any neutral would read Sigmund's post as suggesting he has a grudge against a goody goody sibling! In the words of the immortal Agent Starling: "Perhaps you should turn that high-powered introspection on yourself, Doctor. Or maybe you're afraid to?"
Merry Scrapmas everyone!
