Toronto

I've been in Toronto for the last day and a half, and it reminds me why I was so happy when I lived here. The city is one of the most cosmopolitan on earth, and with the economy roaring along, there is a terrific feeling of optimism here. I spent a solid 4 hours walking around yesterday, and though is was a little chilly, the sky was blue and spring is definitely arriving.
The CN Tower above, used to be the tallest free standing structure in the world. That baton has been passed a number of times since it was built, but it retains its dominance over the skyline. You can go up the tower and look out from the observation deck at the city spread out beneath you. There is also a glass floor, which if you can hack it, (I can't) you can walk over the chasm below. Kids have no problem with it and dance and jump up and down.......a tenative foot is all I could manage....heart pounding.......

As luck would have it, there was a Blue Jays game on, and it being early in the season, I was able to pitch up midway through the 4 th inning, and for $12, I was in.

When you're at the game, there's only one thing to eat...........

....and there are ample examples of what happens if you eat too many of them.........

From the skyDome and CN Tower, its a short walk north to Queen Street West, a street that fancies itself as "uber hip", and is home to various wildlife

That's it for now....I'm off to Mexico..........

Vacationing in Mexico?
I don't think it's a work related trip as none works in Mexico this week. It is the Holy Week and every beach is crowded, unless you are visiting Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo. South Pacific is crowded... still beautiful. Only big cities are kind of empty.

It is a work function, though there is a fair amount of vacation type stuff involved...I'll send some pics when I get a chance. I'm on a resort, that in all reality could be anywhere as it has a bit of a "bubble" feel to it....nice enough but I hardly think it represents a "Mexican" experience. Most of my colleagues are here with their spouses, girlfriends etc, and I think that they're enjoying it....I've been in meetings all morning...which is just as well as I'm here on my own....drag!
I'll do a post on whatever happens if its remotely interesting...going deep sea fishing this afternoon.....so I'll try and avoid getting green around the gills, or fried in the sun and take some pics......

What can I say. Toronto is an exciting place. In all seriousness, Toronto is a great, multicultural city and a great place to live.

Terry - it was great to see you.
