I thought I'd give you a little more flavour of Muay Thai:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muay_thai
But first a typical street vendor in Bangkok and the rather frightening wares for sale
From the begining of the ritual dance that the fighters do at the begining, to the rhythmic snake dance while kicking the crap out of each other, the boxers are accompanied by traditional Thai music played by these guys:
Backstage is pretty basic. They're lined up and sweltering in the 90+ degrees.
Poor Mexico got knocked out of the world cup...Bloody Argies!!!!
Its 8am in Ottawa, Toronto and NYC and 5am in LA and San Francisco, and 8pm in Beijing.
I'm going to watch England beat Ecuador at 11 pm local time (well the first half anyway) and will take some pics if its funny or interesting.
Hope all is well whever you are

Ironic that Mexico loses the only time, during this tournament, that played well... oh, well. Now I have to wait four more years to see my team performing in the world cup fields, hopefully they'll do better...
Mexico has a lot of Argentinians that have moved up here and made this country their home. Some of them were interviewed this past week; only one woman wanted Argentina to defeat Mexico, the rest of them wanted Mexico to win... I found that very interesting as I am a Mexican who lives in the USA, and the times Mexico has played versus USA, I am with Mexico; I belive most Mexicans in the USA would be with Mexico.
Argentinians are famous for their arrogance. They do not consider themselves Latin Americans, and most of them have an European passport as their great grandparents came from Italy or from somewhere else in Europe, and they are proud of their European background.
Some of them immigrate to Mexico, and little by little start losing that arrogance. You find them selling things on the street, really struggling to make it here. It's interesting to see a cute blond guy selling empanadas outside of the American Embassy... those jobs are usually for people with no European look... sad, but that's the way it is.
Today, I am with Ecuador. I know Ecuador is facing a much more experienced team, but I am with any Latin American country that's left in this world cup.
¡Viva Latin America!
hehehe :-)
Interesting pics of the Thailand boxing... I have mixed feelings about that sport. It's always very poor guys who practice it, and that makes me very sad.
I am glad to hear your back is not bothering anymore. I hope it continues that way.
Well not bothering me is a relative term. I still squirm in my seat trying to get comfortable. Thing is now, I can walk.......and thats a good thing as I have to work and be "on" all the time.

Always the same teams in quarter finals, semifinals...
It seems that the world cup belongs only to them:
Argentina, Brazil, England, Germany, Italy.
Go Brazil!!!
Sad to see my teams are being sent back home. It's always the same, at least Brazil brings some happiness to us, Latin Americans, during the world cup...
Hope you feel better soon Terry, and you do not have to always be "on," you can turn yourself off and take a break!
PS I want the cup to come to the American Continent, even if it's Argentina who brings it back!
