A friend of mine has just gone back to university to do another degree. He used to work with me and was as good a guy at explaining the difficult technicalities surrounding the web and associated techy issues in terms that a layman (me) could understand, that you'd ever be fortunate enough to meet.
He's also a really interesting guy. Essentially he's lived three or more different lives. For years he was in British Military intellegence and served tours of duty in Northern Ireland and Germany during the cold war. He worked at my company in just about every department, and now he's decided to become a primary school teacher.
Its quite inspiring actually. Here is this guy, who could hold an audience in the palm of his hand when he presented, successful in business, deciding, "enough is enough" .
"I'm going to do what I want to do and damn the torpedos"
Not that I want to be a school teacher, but you get the idea.
I respect the balls needed to make the switch. Now he's become a mature student living in a house full of youngsters.
He's also a great photographer.
And drinking buddy
It sounds like the makings of a bad sitcom.
Happily, he's more Southpark than Three's Company.
He has a new blog documenting this new life. Its only day 2, but is already pretty funny.

I can't wait to see if his sense of rebellion rubs off on his new classmates
Here's to you K!
See you all later

I'm not entirely sure I'm worth such comment but thanks Terry. I'm kind of missing my drinking partner too so give me a buzz soon.
