Nice folks.
The weather in England is sliding towards winter. The days are noticeably shorter and the rain threatens pretty much on and off all day. The students are back in Cambridge and each evening is punctuated by late night drunken shouting from Midsummer Common in front of my place. The student's life, not a bad way to exist huh?
Strange stuff from the past few days:
- I finally got a message from the car I bashed a couple of weeks ago. I sent my details, asked for hers and haven't heard a word since. Strange one that.
- My bags just arrived from Madrid yesterday and some of the clean clothes have been worn, replaced and neatly folded. There are also some odd pictures in the camera which was packed in the bag (and I mean REALLY ODD!).....YIKES!
- There is a strange guy who sits naked from the waist up in the common opposite my house everynight from about 1 am. He puts a flashlight under his chin, looking all demonic ( or so he may think) and does some sort of bizarre chant. He has red ribbons tied around his biceps.
- British Gas have written to me threatening to disconnect my supply. Written again apologizing saying it was a mistake, and then threatened me with legal action. I called them this morning and they have no record of any of it.
- My electricity bill arrived and it's a whopper. That's strange as I haven't been home for most of the past two months. I looked at the meter and its spinning like a top when none of the lights or utilities are on. I called the company and it seems that someone along our row has tapped into the other supplies and is running two tanning beds. They are trying to identify who it is.
Not much to report as I'm counting down the 3rd Quarter and praying that the numbers come in.
Next week I'm in Frankfurt and will report back on all things publishing.
That's it for today unless something strange or interesting happens.
Not much chance of either I'm afraid.

not to laugh at your misfortune but two tanning beds???? then again, they are in damp dark cambridge....
It's good to know that the promotion of skin cancer is alive and well in Cambridge. What else are you going to do on a rainy day. Amazing that those things still have appeal. Oh well!
Can't say there is anything strange to report in my life. However, the weather here in Toronto is turning and I expect the possibility of snow isn't too far off.
Take it easy pal!
