I arrived last night at around 1 am and due to the time difference was up at 5:30. Awake but tired I headed to Circular Quay, which is the centre of the Australia day celebrations. Predictably I hit a brick wall at around 1 pm but managed to get a few pics in between.

The first thing I came across was a wheelchair marathon. I was amazed at the speeds these guys got up to as they flew past
The "Rocks" is the historic district right by the harbour. Its a big part of the celebraitions with live music on various stages and windy lanes and markets. Pubs, restaurants and expensive shops make it oh so trendy, but today its thronged with bare chested Aussies wrapped in the flag and drunk as skunks. The Sydney Harbour bridge touches down here and you can do an organised climb over the spans. I'm going to try it while I'm here but have my doubts I can fit in the 3 hours necessary.
As you can see its spectacular weather wise, though I think I got a bit too much sun and am a bit of a tomatoe face. The sun is stronger than you think.
Sydney strikes me as a very Asian city. There are a lot of Koreans and Chinese living here which I knew to be the case, but the numbers are surprising.
Finally , a little local quirk: Burger King is called "Hungry Jack's" in OZ.
Why?
I have no idea.

That's it for now.
Love to all
