Winter comes to Cambridge

Airports closed, roads blocked and school cancelled.
Welcome to winter in England.
It's cold in UK terms but pretty manageable by Canadian standards. My mind can't help but think back to innumerable winter mornings in Ottawa and Montreal where after foot or more falling overnight, I'd spend an hour or so digging my car out to go to work (in minus 20!).
"Why do I live in this God Damn country!!!??" Used to be my refrain every February.
Its quite pleasent here though will soon get messy and slippery as the temperature is not much below freezing.
BP at 7 am....158/105
BP at 8:30.....138/81
High or low? There's no telling but seems high(ish). Inconsistancy seems to be the watchword here.

Are you freezing or boiling where you are?

Let me know

Love to all

T

Talking about cold, snow and winter in Montreal, I seem to remember you driving me to some important meeting I had in your bathrobe and slippers. A funny memory from a different time.

It's cold here in Toronto - minus 25 celcius. What a great place to live!

Enjoy the snow while it lasts.

You big babies have no idea! It's absolutely bone-shattering with the wind chill here in Toronto. I'm sitting at my computer wearing two pair of socks, turtleneck, cardigan and electric blanket wrapped round me as I work - and the heat is on!
What I wouldn't give to be in the near-tropical climes of England right now...

Since I live in Toronto myself and in an old Victorian, I wouldn't classify myself as a "big babby." Terry on the other hand has probably gotten a little soft.

I guess Californians/Anglelinos are big babies when it comes to weather. It hits 45F/7C and we complain of FREEEEEZING. The weather has really been unusually uneven - up and down. It's really not the winters that worries me, but the feeling that this summer (and coming summers) will be worse than the last year's-months-long triple digit temperatures (F). Global warming anyone?????

Well mention the weather and the comments keep coming! As someone near and dear to me said yesterday:
"Its the little things that matter T. That's what strikes a cord in people"
Well glad that we have something that matters.....I just wish someone said something about my surfer pics....I REALLY love those pics, and I never thought I could take pictures like that!
Well I guess I'll take what I can get!
