Its a rather less frenetic pace here compared to Dubai. Though my schedule is jammed the place itself moves at a rather leisurely pace.
Its much more Arabic in feel.
Lots of white bedsheets, little hats and covered up women.
The bar in the hotel felt like an old man's pub, with the only women in sight being a Scandinavian aircrew huddled in the corner.
I'll try and snatch time for a picture or two though I'm hampered by the fact that as I keep moving from air con to high 30's the lenses on my camera almost instantly mist up when I take them out of the bag.
I'll be in Qatar tonight.
Very tired as thoughts of Jess seem to dominate my pre-sleep moments.
There are worse things in life I guess.
I'm sitting in the lobby of the Grand Hyatt in Muscat tapping away on my laptop and engaged in an unspoken territorial battle with a group of German business men sitting beside me.
I go to the toilet and when I come back my bags are moved and there's another one there.
Go to sign the bill and another one appears......
Its the old sun loungers and towels skirmish.
Opps! spilt coffee on his Boss suit jacket.
How clumsy of me though it wouldn't have happened if he hadn't draped it over the back of my briefcase.
I feel a Munich accord coming on though that was a false peace.
Time to head out into the blazing sunshine.
A dignified retreat but I'll live to fight another day.
Love to all

Surprised you managed to find space on the sofa anyway. Wasn’t the jacket already there when you came down?
Nope I was there first. This little piece of lobby territory was strategic in that it has access to the one free plug in the kingdom.
Laptops being as they are, he who has access to the juice has control of email and in their case a preview of the audi domination plans for the future. My access to the plug was getting squeezed out in a teutonic hammer and anvil manouver. They scanned the room...opened their laptops and realised they needed to coordinate.
I fought the good fight and only retreated when the beaches of Dunkirk were clear.....enough of this.
I'm back in the lobby and securely plugged in until my flight leaves in a couple of hours.
RULE BRITANIA!
