It actually went quite well. The issues of job security and the usual stuff came up and I found myself reassuring everyone and talking about a bright future for the business.
I'm lucky in that I do believe the stuff I was saying and I'm pretty much in the same boat as everyone else.
I think most people are going to be fine.
The complicating factor is that yesterday was the day of the company Christmas party. What could have been a disaster, wasn't.
Everyone behaved and there were no scandals, or angry outbursts.
Quite a good team we have in Cambridge.
The future is unclear.
I'm not sure where I'll be this time next year.
The higher up the ladder the more precarious the perch.
Stress levels are high.
I've been involved in a number of buy-outs and purchases and I know that they are often characterised by uncertainty and worry but can also go forward with a minimum of fuss and disruption.
I do know I'll be in Miami at New Years and look forward to some sun and red wine therapy.
I hope your life is less fraught on this lead up to Christmas.
