Well I'm here and it couldn't be more different from Rio. Where there was mess, there is order. Chaotic jams have given way to wide well maintained avenues of flowing traffic.
Soul and a buzzy vibe to.......well it's clean anyway.
So far it feels like Milton Keynes with a Latin flavour a la George Jetson architecture.
God forbid there may even be Singaporean aspirations......
Naw its just not in the Brazilian heart to go down that path.
All the planning probably makes this a liveable place and has avoided much of the big city problems of Rio, but at the same time feels a bit dull and uninspiring. Maybe the sunshine tomorrow will give me a different perspective.
We'll see.
My first impressions of this place are probably a bit coloured by the fact that I'm feeling wiped out.
I have no fewer than 5 meetings tomorrow and I hope that I can avoid "zoning out" as the Portugese chatter buzzes around me.
An amiable drunk on the plane was given short shift and as I usually would've been more indulgent, I think my tolerance factor is dropping fast.
All of the travel over the past 6 weeks or so is catching up on me.

See ya next post
