Old Church

Every morning I pass this old building on the way to work and today I decided to stop and have a look. It's called "The Leper Chapel of St Mary Magdelene" which is as dramatic a name as I've ever heard for a church.
It was built in the early 12th century and was part of a nearby Leper hospital.
In 1211, King John (amazing to see something making John real as he's always been the folklore King John in the Robin Hood stories to me), granted a fair to be held to support the work of the hospital. It became the biggest fair in Europe and some of the streets near the Church bear the original names of the roads built to accommodate the associated traffic.
Over the centuries, traces of the the hospital have vanished and the chapel fell into disrepair.
Restored in the mid 19th century, its now owned by the Cambridge preservation society.
Regular services are still conducted every Sunday.
Quite a cool find on my commute huh?
Dubai on Saturday, then Hong Kong on Tuesday and Mumbai (Bombay) on the following Monday.
I should be home on the 19th.
Seems like a lot of ground to cover in 11 days.
Some hard travelling ahead.
The scenery is likely to be quite a bit different from this 800 year old church so stay tuned
Hope all of you are well
Love
T

If you travelling like that you'll come home in a box one day. Its a holiday this weekend in the UK right? What the hell are you doing?
Your earlier posts talk of work trouble but you seem to be a working machine.

Chill .
We all have our crops to sow and work and harvest...blah, blah blah.
Its a drag to miss the holidays but my daughter is in Liverpool and I'd only be kicking around Cambridge feeling sorry for myself, so off I go without a hint of angst.
I'm looking forward to being in HK again as it seems I'm somehow connected with that place in a way.
So chill I don't intend to come home in a box.
OK?
Happy Easter or passover or whatever else you may be celebrating!

The previous blogger should chill. The probability is that they don't even know you. However, you really should try to find a few hobbies for the sake of your sanity and for the future. God knows that sometimes I wish my life was more about career, but it is good for one's health to find a balance. I think you need to consider your age and look at yourself in the mirror and think - "do I look 43?" Sorry, but I had to say that. Eventually, it catches up to all of us; some sooner than others. Not my place to tell you what to do and we all have to live with some realities, but maybe, just maybe, it is worth a bit of a slow down in your pace. Just think about, OK?
