Toronto

OK enough of politics.
I've been in Toronto all week for work and am on my way to Quebec City.
I'm flying from the Island Airport in the city. Besides being ultra convenient ( no lines!) it provides the best vantage point in Toronto to see the skyline. It also gives you an insight into the historical significance that Lake Ontario played in the development of the city. Amongst the skyscrapers and stadium sit old industrial hulks from the time when the waterfront was the economic lifeblood of the region.
Remember that in the years of prohibition in the States, Canada was still churning out malt and its byproducts .
Buffalo was only a short midnight boat trip away and the Seagram family fortune (Canadian Club rye whisky) was based on many a such clandestine foray.
Or so the story goes anyway. That's it for today.
I'm pretty beat and feel like I haven't had time to catch my breath over the past month.
Next post will be from Quebec.Love
T
