London

Clearly £100 a night doesn't get you much in London.
I arrived at 6:30 this morning after a long journey.
Arriving at an Indian airport can be challanging enough.
Transferring flights airside is far from straightforward at the best of times.
At 1:30 am its one of thoses experiences that if it doesn't kill you, will make you stronger.
The airport in Mumbai is a study in chaos.
Four different cops/security guys/airline people tried to push me through immigration.
My lack of VISA made such a course of action inadvisable.
Given my bags were supposedly checked through to London, there wasn't anything to pick up and clear customs with.
"THERE IS NO OTHER WAY SIR"
I figured out that there was another way and dodging the army of guys trying to take my bags and bring me to the illegal smoking room, I made it to the Jet Airways/Air France lounge and sat there for an hour and a half eyeing up the congealing food along with all the other starving westerners.
The Indians gave the stuff a wide berth.
A couple of Brit guys went for the grub.
Two hours later on flight 347, I watched them stumbling back and forth to the toilet .
Back and forth like clockwork...
A relay race of the runs.
Eventually they shut the favoured (closest) toilet down.
It was disconcerting watching the foot to foot hoping, sweaty queue for the remaining crappers.
There but for the grace of god (and careful abstinence based on woeful past experience) go moi.
Silly, silly, very pale western men.
I'm babbling because I'm tired.
Till the next post.
Adieu and stay well.

Not much of a rest ahead, but at least I have Jess tomorrow and can enjoy coolish weather.
