Happy New Year from HK

Happy New Year everyone. People in HK, 30,000 of them anyway, spent the day protesting.
It felt very good natured though the papers said there were some minor scuffles at the tail end of the day.
One of the things to strike you over the holidays here is that everything stays open every day.
Christmas Day?
Go shopping!
New Year's Day?
Go shopping!
I'm starting the New Year in much the same way I finished the old one.
Travelling.
I leave today for the US and because of a complicated itinerary, I'm doing so via London and the whole journey will take about 30 hours.
The news reports of tightening security for US bound flights promise delays and frustration.
It is what it is.
The New Year promises many changes in my life not least of which is relocating to the US at the end of March.
More on that later.
I hope all of you are easing back into your routines after the holidays.
The first thing to jettison from 2009 are any regrets you may have.
What's done is done.
Look forward to a bright New Year!
Stay well everyone.

Striking resemblance to the Cheshire cat...

How many days will you have lived in HK by the time you leave? Am starting a sweepstake.

Hope 2010 brings you good changes.

Safe travels

To clarify:

The purple (so fetching) Disney one, not the stuff-of-nightmares John Tenniel one.

By lived, I mean slept in your own bed. Any takers? I have a book running here.

And I hope it is all good now and henceforth.

Take care,
