Happy Birthday to me

I started my birthday at City Airport in Toronto.
Besides the non existent hassles at security or check in, it has the best views of the skyline anywhere in the city.
I flew to Ottawa to spend my birthday with my parents. sister and nieces.
I'm 47 today.
Turning 47 means you wear a silly hat and don't care what it looks like.
How the hell did that happen?
Time is flying by at increasingly breakneck speed.
I've had very little of the introspective soul searching usually accompanying a TAR anniversary. I guess 47 isn't a marquee number like 40 or 45....or 50.
I do have the nagging suspicion that things are all downhill from here on out ( despite the overly chirpy declarations from friends who are 50+) but this year I've kept the school boy angst to a minimum.
Things could be a hell of a lot worse. As the picture above attests, things aren't so bad.
Am I where I imagined I'd be when I was 21 year old?
I don't really remember what fantasies I had in that regard, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't hold much allure for me now.
It is what it is.
It's not perfect, but I'm not sure "perfect" exists.
Everything is relative.
Profound musings to refute or back up my state of mind are thin on the ground, so I have to conclude I'm relatively content.
That's all for today folks.
Its the day after the 10th.
This old man has to fly back to Toronto and start another work week.
Love to all
T

Sounds and looks like you had a good one. Still thinking about a trip for you and me on my 50th next year.

I feel about the same way as you do about this aging thing.

Take it easy pal!

Happy birthday! You're as old as you feel (and other meaningless cliches!)

"If you want to get ahead, wear a hat". Possibly not that particular hat (charming though it is).

Hey, sorry I missed your b-day but hope it was a good one. Forty-seven is one of those nothing birthdays. I remember when I was thirty-seven telling everyone I was almost forty. Now I'm doing the same with fifty. It's all a state of mind anyway and, in that respect, I think we're all about eighteen.
