Felix Baumgartner, the Austrian madman just jumped from the edge of space, broke the sound barrier and gave us all some pretty good TV for an hour or so.
Sponsored by Red Bull the jump has me scratching my head, for two reasons:
First, though very cool to watch, I'm not sure what it was trying to find out/prove/disprove.
Second, if they (Red Bull) wanted to equate a carbonated caffeine drink with going insane and compelling the risk of life and limb, then they succeeded.
Still, you have to admire the cast-iron, basketball sized cojones on the guy.
Given the fascination and on the edge of your seat suspense of this event, I think there'd be a ton of enthusiasm to get back in the space race.
